This page is for those who are somehow linked to Raymond
Edward Canada of Edmond, Oklahoma.
Raymond was born in 1894 in the Oklahoma Territory and passed to be with
his Lord on 26 February 1989. His parents
were Wiley Green Canada (1866-1939) and Martha Terry (1862-1896). Raymond and his wife, Daisy (Velma Stephens) Canada had 5 children: Fern, Fred, Dorothy, Melba, and Anne. Of the 5, only Anne is still living.
He farmed, worked for the county, loved the Lord, and grew
some of the best watermelons ever. His
surviving child, her children and their spouses as well as the children of the other four children who have passed, grandchildren,
and great grandchildren gather each year over Labor Day weekend to enjoy each
other, share and make memories, and just celebrate family.
You don’t have to be related by blood. You just have to feel connected. So send your stories and pictures to Tom
so we can share them here. Try to
remember as many details and nuances as you can. Most of the younger generation never met
Raymond (Dad, Grandpa, Great-Grandpa).
Use the comment spaces at the bottom of these posts to add
to what others remember. Most of all
enjoy being family, even if we only see each other once or twice each year.
